My One Word for 2025 is Overflow

This year, my word is overflow. It captures a vision of how I want to live—abundantly, purposefully, and with discipline. Overflow doesn’t mean chaos or burnout. Instead, it means filling my cup with the things that matter most, so that it overflows to inspire, support, and uplift others.

I struggled this year with finding a word that would make me a better mom, wife, leader, and human being. After much reflection, I decided to dive into Zac Bauermaster's book Leading with People. He reminded leaders to reflect on when they are at their best. Our cups need to be filled in order to serve others. This insight helped me realize that overflow isn’t about being stretched thin—it’s about being full enough to give.

I have a tendency to overcommit, driven by a desire to do my best in all areas of life. Whether it’s professionally or personally, I find myself wanting to give more than I often have time or energy for. This year, my goal is to approach life with intention—to focus on filling my cup first, through faith, family, and personal growth.

I want to be present with my family, cherishing every moment and ensuring they feel the best of me. At the same time, I want to serve my school community wholeheartedly, inspiring greatness in others without sacrificing what matters most at home. It’s a delicate balance—but with discipline, I believe my overflow can be a blessing to both.

Spiritually, I want to get closer to God. It’s a journey of trust and surrender, allowing Him to fill my heart with peace, wisdom, and grace. From that wellspring, I hope to overflow with kindness, encouragement, and love for those around me.

Overflow isn’t about doing more; it’s about being more—more present, more intentional, and more connected to what truly matters. This year, I will aim to live a life where my overflow blesses, inspires, and brings joy to others.

"When you fill your cup first, the overflow becomes a gift to those around you."

So, what is your word for this year?
